The Zombie DEFCON System
DEFCON stands for “defense readiness condition” and is an alert posture used by the United States Armed Forces. The military version of the DEFCON system prescribes five graduated levels of readiness (or states of alert) for the U.S. military. These levels increase in severity from DEFCON 5 (least severe) to DEFCON 1 (most severe) to match varying military situations.
The Zombie DEFCON system is a way for us to measure how close we are to a zombie apocalypse. The 5 stages below represent what level of severity the zombie threat is at with DEFCON 5 being no outbreak and DEFCON 1 being ‘total zombie apocalypse”.
